Instructor Bio: | My first love, working with textiles, came at a young age with my grandmother teaching me embroidery and latch hooking. Sewing was a gift of mine in high school, it was an easy A+. I also remember helping other students who had fear when it came to the sewing machine. My Grandmother blessed me with her sewing machine and shortly after I created doll clothes, children?s clothes and home d?cor/crafts. In 1997 I learned the art of quilting from a fourth-generation quilter. I fell so much in love with it I started teaching with kids sewing camps at local schools wherever we were stationed, as well as beginning sewing for adults. I now love Art Quilting and playing with different mediums in my work. Abstract/Improv art is my go-to. I LOVE simplicity, balance, and just stitching fabric. I love to support local businesses. I teach and travel to include teaching workshops for guilds as well. The process of my art, whether the viewer is looking at my art or I am teaching a class, my goal and true overall joy is that the viewer Finds my art fun and brings warmth to their heart. |
