A Christmas Tree Quilt
In this class you will learn the technique for constructing a Christmas Tree Quilt and other skills including:
• An easy & speedy method for making 8 half square triangles at once.
• How to get bulky seams to lay flat.
• How to make a fancy Double Aster Star block and present blocks
• An alternative way to assemble the blocks for another quilt.
• A trick for finding color value so your quilts will have good contrast.
There will be a small amount of class prep instructions that I will call you about. This will save time so we can get right to the fun!
Recommended Supply List:
• Christmas Tree Pattern (MSQC Pattern #2455 - Available at Southern Charm)
• Best Press
• Frixion Pen
• Rotary Cutter
• At least an 8 ½” Square Up Ruler
• Long Ruler 6 ½ “x 24”
• Neutral thread
• Sewing machine
• Mini iron would be helpful, but not necessary.
• Bring your lunch.

In order to celebrate and commemorate his service I made him a memory quilt out of his military uniforms. Along the way, I started making Memory Quilts for family members who had lost a loved one. Knowing that they would wrap the quilt around themselves and feel connected to that person again sparked a passion in me. Powerful memories come back when we see a familiar fabric.
