Kim Diehl's Quiet Grace Simple Whatnots Club (Collection 13)
Let’s enjoy the charming patterns and fabrics of Kim Diehl, one of the most famous Henry Glass & Co. designers. Instructor Kari Hawkins will introduce you to the fun of making Kim’s little scrappy patchwork quilts from her Quiet Grace fabric line. We will meet together each month for six months. Projects include: Comfy Cozy, Fall Hall, Jam Packed, Sing for Your Supper, Stash Hash, Talk of the Town, Tucked Away, and Zigging and Zagging. Projects are easy to finish for both beginner and intermediate/advanced quilters. The Whatnots Club will offer lots of quilting tips and tricks, and special surprises unique to Southern Charm.
There will be two makeup Monday's for members who have to miss a Wednesday class.

Instructor: | Kari Hawkins |
Instructor Bio: | Kari Hawkins is a local quilt artist and writer. Sewing since a teenager, she began quilting 35 years ago. Her mother-in-law was a life-long quilter and charter member of Heritage Quilters of Huntsville. Over the years, Kari has served in various volunteer positions with HQH, including president, vice president and quilt show chair. She has won numerous quilting awards in HQH quilt shows and has had her quilts juried in both the American Quilter?s Society quilt contest in Paducah, Kentucky, and International Quilt Festival in Houston, Texas. In addition, Kari coordinates a 55-member quilting group that meets monthly. Professionally, Kari retired in 2023 from a 40-year career in journalism and public affairs, ending her career as a public affairs specialist for the U.S. Army Materiel Command at Redstone Arsenal. Her husband is a NASA computer scientist contractor. They have a daughter who is a writer living in Houston with her husband, a son who is a Huntsville Police Officer and a dog named Penny. Kari and her husband are active members of Epworth United Methodist Church, where they both sing in the choir. |
