Doggies in the Window

This laugh out loud machine applique quilt will keep you in stitches! I smiled from ear to ear as I finished each block because they are so dog gone adorable! Each kit contains cut out and ready to stich appliques and the block background fabric to affix the applique to. You will learn how to use different decorative stitches to finish the edge of the appliques. In addition, you will learn how to emphasize and highlight areas of importance. Each month you will receive appliques and block background fabric to make two blocks. The first blocks are very easy and we will slowly progress to more challenging as your skills get stronger. If you already machine applique, you may learn a few tricks to help along the way. The first month we will start by practicing stitch techniques with two easy blocks. In this class, we will also go shopping for the sashing, borders, backing and binding fabric. I recommend waiting to get these fabrics until after you have the background fabric to determine your colors. Homework: Know your sewing machine and how to select different decorative stitches.

Instructor: Leora Strong
Instructor Bio: Teacher Name: Leora Strong Email Address: leora.strong@outlook.com Phone Number: 256-603-0421 I began sewing when I was 8 years old and I fell in love with the art! If I wanted something, I made it... clothes, drapes, reupholstered furniture (even my husband's car seats). When I was in my 20's I began sewing casual and formal wear for the public. I made cheerleading uniforms for a whole squad and was able to purchase my first Bernina sewing machine and serger. I still have them and they work great...I LOVE Bernina's machines!!! But, I did not start quilting until October of 2021when I discovered a new love and joy! The need for a new bedspread created a monster in me and I cannot get enough of quilting! Equipped with a new Bernina and an Amara Long arm, I am living the dream!
