Gallantly Streaming with Sam Swieszcz
This jelly roll friendly quilt is the sixth in our Strip Club series. In this class you will learn: • Tips for sewing star blocks and how to avoid chopping off points. • How to assemble and sub cut strip sets to speed up block construction. • A trick for finding color value so your quilts will have good contrast.
Students should come to class with the following precut: Blocks Color 1: 4 different prints (Medium or Dark shades) 2 ½”x 20” Blocks Color 2: 5 different prints (Medium or Dark shades) 2 ½” x 20” Background Fabric: Cut a minimum of 6 Strips 2 ½” x 42” (or width of fabric)
Recommended Supply List:
• “Gallantly Streaming” pattern by Cozy Quilt Designs (purchase at Southern Charm before class)
• Best Press
• Rotary Cutter with sharp blade
• Small ruler for drawing lines (2 ½” x 6 ½”)
• Long Ruler (6 ½” x 24”)
• Frixion Pen
• Neutral thread
• Small scissors or nippers
• Pins
• Sewing machine and power cords
• Mini iron would be helpful, but not necessary.
• Bring your lunch.

| Instructor Bio: | I have been a quilter/instructor for 13 years. The first memory quilt I made was from my husband and my son's jeans. I am blessed to love and be loved by a decorated EOD Veteran. In order to celebrate and commemorate his service I made him a memory quilt out of his military uniforms. Along the way, I started making Memory Quilts for family members who had lost a loved one. Knowing that they would wrap the quilt around themselves and feel connected to that person again sparked a passion in me. Powerful memories come back when we see a familiar fabric.
