Cross My Heart with Sam
Valentine’s Day is coming! Let’s make something full of heart!
In this class you will learn:
• How to make blocks from a strip tube.
• Secrets to not chopping off points in your blocks.
• A trick for finding color value so your quilts will have good contrast.
• Quilt Math made simple. Learn how to quickly calculate border dimensions and fabric requirements.
HOMEWORK
Students should come to class with the following precut: NOTE: BEFORE YOU CUT – If you are concerned about your red fabric bleeding pre-wash your fabrics with 4 Shout Color Catchers.
Then press and cut the following:
• Bring 12 different red strips (2 ½ x 42)
• Background Fabric: 1 yard (Do Not precut anything from the 1 yard)
Supply List (Download)
• Pattern: “Cross My Heart” by Daniela Stout from Cozy Quilt Designs
• Strip Tube Ruler or Strip Tube Ruler Jr.
• 12-14 different Red Strips (Strips 2.5”x42”) Ok to choose your own color.
• Background Fabric: 1 Yard
• Rotary Cutter with sharp blade
• Small Ruler (2 ½” x 6 ½”)
• Long Ruler (6 ½” x 24”)
• Red thread (or match your fabric)
• Frixion Pen
• Small scissors or nippers
• Pins
• Sewing machine and power cords
• Mini iron would be helpful, but not necessary.
• Bring your lunch.

| Instructor Bio: | I have been a quilter/instructor since 2009. The first memory quilt I made was from my husband and my son's jeans. I am blessed to love and be loved by a decorated EOD Veteran. In order to celebrate and commemorate his service I made him a memory quilt out of his military uniforms. Along the way, I started making Memory Quilts for family members who had lost a loved one. Knowing that they would wrap the quilt around themselves and feel connected to that person again sparked a passion in me. Powerful memories come back when we see a familiar fabric.
