Janome Owners Club

This is a new club being hosted at Southern Charm Quilting to provide a community to all our Janome users! We love the Janome brand, and would love to celebrate all of our wonderful customers who feel the same way. We will have super fun group projects and patterns, and we will focus on Janome related content including announcements and updates about what's going on in the world of Janome! We hope to see you there!
Please remember to bring all sewing tools, and your machine. If you own an M8 or a CM17 and would like to borrow a machine, please let Leslie know.
As you walk out the door please make sure you have your power cord and foot pedal if you use one.
We will be exploring hand look stitches, specifically Shashiko. This is a Japanese mending stitch traditionally done by hand. We will also explore reverse bobbin stitching.
We will use our decortive stitches and a heavier thread, such as embroidery or metallic threads
After we complete our samples, we can continue to make a small pin cushion to attach to our machines using our sample. That is if we have time. These stitching techniques are quite fun and easier time consuming. a
Supply List:
- Fat quarter or scrap fabric. If you have any heavier muslin or canvas weight bring some along.
- Stabilizer scrap bout 5x7 or a bit larger
- Batting scrap, about 5x7 or a little bigger
- a spool of monofilament thread. This is usually 80 or 100 wt. (We will have available at the shop)
- Embroidery or metallic threads If you have some top stitching thread bring it along
- Optional, a low tension bobbin case. This will say 8 grams or have a blue dot.
Please bring your Janome machine, all of your stitch plates and feet, and any questions and ideas you have to make the club worthy of your time.
