Beginning Quilting
Students will build essential quilting skills while creating a variety of classic quilt blocks, including the Rail Fence, Nine Patch, Square Dance, Friendship Star, and Flying Geese.
Instruction focuses on accurate cutting, piecing, and pressing techniques, with emphasis on achieving a consistent ¼-inch seam for precise quilt construction. Participants will also learn how to add borders, assemble the quilt top, and finish their project with binding.
By the end of the course, students will have the confidence and skills to complete future quilting projects on their own!

- Sewing Machine
- 3rd Edition Start Quilting with Alex Anderson
- 45mm or 60mm Rotary Cutter and extra blades
- Cutting Mat
- 24" x 36" recommended for home
- 12" x 18" recommended for class
- Rotary Ruler
- 6.5" or 8.5" by 24.5" acrylic ruler
- 3.5" x 12.5" acrylic ruler recommended
- Scissors - I love Karen K Buckley Scissors (Blue or Purple handles)
- Glass Head Pins
- Thread - I love Aurifil 2600 for my piecing
- Seam Ripper
- Iron - for home
- Magic or Best Press Spray

| Instructor Bio: | My name is Jennifer Danson. I have worked at the quilt shop for 2 years. I took beginning quilting in October of 2024 and began teaching it shortly afterwards. I love quilting and sharing what I know with my students. I love learning and challenging myself with new techniques. I have 3 children, all teenagers, that are the main beneficiaries of my quilting journey. I'm also the mom to several fur babies. Pippa is my mini dachshund, and possibly my favorite child. |
