The pattern was offered in a 1930's newspaper for 3 cents and a self addressed stamped envelope! Like that ever happens anymore!

2" strips and beautiful prairie points just make this a beauty!

Students should come to class with the following:

Cutting instructions:
All measurements include 1/4"-wide seam allowances.

From the assorted 1930s reproduction prints, cut a total of:
- 44 strips, 2" x 42"; crosscut 37 of the strips into:
   - 120 rectangles, 2" x 6 1/2"
   - 120 rectangles, 2" x 3 1/2"
   - 120 squares, 2" x 2"
- 146 squares, 4" x 4"

From the unbleached muslin, cut:
- 8 strips, 3 3/4" x 42"
- 8 strips, 3 1/2" x 42"
- 8 strips, 3 1/2" x 42"; crosscut 120 squares, 3 1/2" x 3 1/2"
- 8 strips, 2" x 42"; crosscut 150 squares, 2" x 2"

Materials:
- 4 3/4 yds total of assorted 1930s reproduction prints for blocks, middle border, and prairie points
- 3 1/2 yds of unbleached muslin for blocks and borders
- 2 1/2 yds of 90" wide muslin for backing*
- 78" x 89" piece of batting
*If using 42" -wide unbleached muslin, you'll need 5 1/2 yds (2 widths pieced vertically).

Supplies:
- Sewing machine in good working order
- Your choice of thread
- Machine needles
- Rotary cutter and blades
- Seam ripper
- Scissors
- Pins
- Ruler
- Cutting Mat
